What do three of Cape Town’s top 10% have in common?
On the surface, Bo-Vine Camps Bay, Bo-Vine In The City and The Attic are three pretty different experiences. One overlooks the Atlantic, another sits in the heart of Cape Town, and upstairs in Camps Bay, cocktails take centre stage.
But this year, they officially have something new in common.
For the first time, all three have been recognised with Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards in the same year, placing each among the top 10% of listings on Tripadvisor worldwide.
While we’re very happy to have three shiny new accolades to our name, we think the more interesting estion is what connects them beyond the badge.
It always comes back to the guest
There are a lot of details that go into a Bo-Vine experience: the ingredients we choose, where our meat comes from, how it is aged and cooked. The wine we pour alongside it. The balance of a cocktail at The Attic. The music, the lighting and the hundred other small decisions happening behind the scenes and on the floor every day.
But perhaps our favourite part of reading your Tripadvisor reviews is seeing how often you talk about our people.
Team members are regularly mentioned by name, whether for explaining a cut of meat, recommending a bottle of wine, remembering a small detail or simply knowing when to check in and when to give you space.
As one recent Camps Bay guest said of their server, Best: “He turned a great meal into a moment.”
It’s a small line, but it says a lot about the kind of hospitality we want to create.
Start with good ingredients. Pay attention to the rest.
Of course, we can’t talk about Bo-Vine without talking about the food. Reviews across both restaurants regularly speak about steaks cooked exactly as requested, the quality of the ingredients and team members taking the time to talk guests through different cuts, ageing and wine recommendations.
Or, as one City guest put it after Vince helped with their wine pairings:
“We got dinner, dessert and a wine history lesson.”
Because starting with good ingredients is important but knowing how to get the best out of them and having a team that knows them well enough to guide you, matters more.
Upstairs, the details look a little different
The Attic has always had its own personality. Sitting above Bo-Vine Camps Bay, it swaps the steakhouse experience for crafted cocktails, bar snacks and an iconic Atlantic Ocean view. The drinks themselves get the same attention we give to the food downstairs, with every element considered rather than cocktails being treated as an afterthought.
But once again, it’s what happens around the drinks that guests remember.
As one Tripadvisor reviewer put it, the team’s attention to detail made them:
“feel valued and appreciated throughout the entire evening.”
And really, that’s what we’re aiming for.

To every guest who has joined us for dinner, stopped by for a cocktail, celebrated something special, recommended us to someone else or taken the time to leave a review afterwards: thank you.
And to our teams thank you for sweating the small stuff every day.
Three venues. All in Tripadvisor’s top 10% worldwide.
That’s something worth raising a glass to.
